Richard Love and Marcus Leemann--two misfits in a small Texan town, one full of emotion, the other excitement, formed a friendship over a similar ear for melody. Love & The Zealous plays a hybrid of southern flavored soul music with elements of classic rock and pop. Their musical roots evolved from the artists their parents enjoyed: Otis Redding, Marvin Gaye, Al Green, The Allman Brothers, and Lynyrd Skynyrd to name a few. The Grateful Web describes the Love & The Zealous experience thusly: "the un-matched raspy/soulful voice of Richard Love completes the ambiance of the group and leaves the band’s sound coursing through your veins long after experiencing it." Throughout 2015 and 2016, Love & The Zealous has toured extensively throughout the United State, with successful shows at the Denton 35 festival, South by Southwest and the Lightning in a Bottle festival. Along the way they’ve had the opportunities to record sessions at the WDVX Blue Plate Special (Knoxville), Our Vinyl (Nashville),Daytrotter (Austin), and Jam in the Van. Their debut album is in the can and will be released in late 2016. They are currently working with Stadium Music Enterprise producer Josh Stevens (Grammy and Billboard Award Nominee and platinum-certified engineer/writer who has worked with LMFAO, Pitbull, Jennifer Lopez and more) to produce a new version of their hit “All in All” for an imminent radio campaign.
